Cookie Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on this website, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal information more generally.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies let a site remember things between pages and between visits — for example, that you are part-way through booking an appointment. Some other technologies, such as tracking pixels and browser storage, do a similar job, and we treat them the same way in this policy.
Your choices
When you first arrive we show you a banner. You can accept all cookies, reject everything that is not essential, or choose by category. We will not set any analytics cookies until you tell us we can. Two things load for everyone because the site needs them: the map that shows where we are, and the spam protection on our contact form. Both are explained below.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site — including the booking form — may stop working.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These are needed for the site to work and for things you have asked us to do, such as taking a booking. They do not require your consent, and you cannot turn them off through our banner.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | This website | Keeps track of your session while you move through the booking form, so your answers are not lost between steps | End of your browsing session |
| bookly-* | This website (booking system) | Remembers the service, date and time you have selected while you complete your booking | End of your browsing session |
| cmplz_* | This website (Complianz) | Records the cookie choices you made, so we do not ask you again on every page and so we can show we obtained your consent | 365 days |
| wordpress_*, wp-settings-* | This website (WordPress) | Only set for members of our own team who log in to manage the site. These are not set for ordinary visitors | Session, or up to 1 year |
Statistics cookies
These help us understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it. We only set them if you agree.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another so visit numbers are counted correctly | 2 years |
| _ga_FMJXMKK0B1 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the state of your visit | 2 years |
Google Analytics is loaded through Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager itself does not set cookies that identify you; it is the container that decides which tags are allowed to run, and we configure it so that analytics tags only fire after you have given consent.
We use Google Search Console to see how the site performs in Google search results. Search Console does not set cookies on this website and does not track you — it reports on our own site’s search performance in aggregate.
Marketing cookies
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies on this website. If that changes we will update this page and add the new cookies to our banner first, so you can choose before anything is set.
Cookies set by other organisations
Some pages include content from other services, and those services may set their own cookies:
- Google Maps, which we use to show you where to find us. The map appears at the bottom of every page and loads for everyone. Google may set its own cookies when it loads. If you would rather it did not, you can block third-party cookies in your browser settings and the rest of the site will work as normal.
- Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our contact form from spam by checking that a real person is sending the message. The form cannot work without it, so it loads for everyone on our contact page. Google may set a cookie called
_GRECAPTCHA, which lasts up to 6 months.
We do not control these cookies. Google’s own privacy notice explains what it does with them.
The law we follow
Cookies are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and by the UK GDPR. The general rule is that we must tell you clearly what we are doing and obtain your consent before placing anything on your device that is not strictly necessary.
The 2025 Act created a limited exception for cookies used purely for statistical purposes. It is narrow — among other things the data must be aggregate only, must not be used to track individuals, and the provider must act solely as our processor. We have taken the view that our analytics setup does not meet every condition, so we ask for your consent instead. Even where the exception applies, we would still have to tell you about it and give you a simple way to opt out.
